Why Simton IPX?
Telecom grade reliability and voice quality built in the Simton IPX
The core technical team of Simton Technologies has over 15 years of experience in building telecommunication systems. Nortel's DMS, Passport, Neptune, Lucent's 5ESS, CBX, Sonus's GSX, and Nuera's ORCA all have the team members' finger prints on their ASIC, hardware, software, or applications. The team knows how to reliably build quality telecom systems with high standards, while remaining within hardware and software budget.

The Simton IPX product series are very scalable. Every system is built-in with redundancy, fault detection, and recovery, and live component swapping; they can be at the levels of hardware module, software sub-system, or access network. The mechanisms for reliability are hard to find in other enterprise and SOHO communication systems. Especially for a hybrid voice system (TDM and VoIP), having such reliability while remaining inexpensive is not a simple task, but one that is achieved in the Simton IPX.

Every Simton IPX has three types of core engines:
  • Control processors implemented with high end MIPS for processing voice signaling, IP routing, PBX services, and system management;
  • Well known DSP processors that support a range of codec with configurable capacity;
  • QoS enabled packet processors for packet classification, editing, and forwarding. Some network processors in the Simton IPX are armed with security encryption co-processors for data and voice security.

The reliability, quality, and performance achieved by the dedicated ASIC and Simton firmware make the Simton IPX a true telecom system. Many software based solutions for IP PBX, including from some open sources, cannot match the reliability and quality level of the Simton IPX at all.
