How to change greeting voice

The default voice prompt package of each supported language contains the default greeting voice such as (English), "hello, if you know the extension, you can dial it now, otherwise dial 0 for assistance". If you like to customize it for your organization, you can do so in one of the following two ways.

Record to a WAV file and upload the file

  1. Start the Microsoft Windows recording tool
    Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder

  2. Use a good head phone set in a quite environment;
    Click the record button to record your voice for 1 minute or less.
  3. Review the voice by playing it. If you satisfy with it, use the following procedure to save it to a WAV file.
    File > Save As;
    Click on "Change" button, you will see:

    Make sure to select (as in the above picture): 8kHz, 8Bit Mono, and CCITT A-Law
    (Do not use Windows predefined choices)
    Save the recording to a WAV file.

  4. Upload the file to IPX.

  5. From outside of the IPX, call one of its PSTN numbers, VoIP numbers, IPX code, or ##NET number, you will hear the greeting if the IPX is set for auto attendant in the correspond sections.
    You can always remove the new greeting by restoring the factory default greeting.

Save IPX resource with g.729 file

The raw wave file usually has bigger file size. You can convert the WAV file to g729 file from http://www.simton.com/US/support/tools-gifts.htm. You save the result to local PC and upload it to IPX. Please note the voice quality from g729 file may not be as good as the raw WAV file.

Record the greeting voice using an attached analog phone

From an attached local analog extension, dial *28#. You will be prompted to record the new greeting voice. The length of the greeting should be 1 minute or less. You can simply hang up after the recording.

From outside of the IPX, call one of its PSTN numbers, VoIP numbers, IPX code, or ##NET number, you will hear the greeting if the IPX is set for auto attendant.
